- Domain names and Web Hosting are like Your Business.
- When you need to setup a business you register it's name, and a domain name registration is just like your business name registration. It gives you your unique identity. And it has to be maintained by someone in a DNS (we will get back to DNS later). For that they charge an annual fee. It ranges from $0 to $35 or even more for special domains ( like .cn .tv .mobi .nu ).
- Web hosting space is like your office space. You need to [rent] it or [buy it out] which is similar to [shared hosting, Virtual server hosting, Dedicated hosting, co-location hosting] and [own hosting]. And you have to pay for the phone lines, phone call and utilities depending upon your usage. Well that is the disc space and bandwidth usage.
Business Name = Domain name
Business Space = Web hosting Space
Utility Usage = Bandwidth
